Red Apron is currently open for counter service, carryout and delivery at both DC locations and at Mosaic in Merrifield. We’re also offering our goods online for delivery at Neighborhood Provisions, where a number of our team members are currently working. Neighborhood Provisions was designed to help our customers get through these troubling times in culinary and beverage style while providing employment and support to our staff and to the staffs of the other independent restaurants of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group. In addition to offering a great selection of meals for immediate delivery, Neighborhood Provisions also has an extensive chef-driven Pantry offering, which includes everything you’d want to stock your fridge or cupboard with including hard to find craft beer, good wine, craft cocktails, locally made gifts and so much more. Yes, you’ve probably heard of produce CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) subscription boxes of seasonal, local fruits and veggies from area farms that you can sign up to receive on a monthly basis. But what about an all-meat version?


Carnivores, your time has come: Red Apron is proud to offer a unique twist on the CSA model with our Butcher’s Boxes. Sign up for a subscription, and you’ll receive a monthly box filled with fresh meat from local farmers and occasional cured meats. You can opt to add in spices and rubs, as well as pantry items like pimento cheese or mustard. Recipes specific to the included goods will be thrown in, too.


While you can save whatever you don’t eat (everything is freezer-safe), the boxes are designed to appeal to all tastes, whether you’d like a whole chicken for a family of four or a few steaks for yourself.

Red Apron, a creative collaboration between Chef Nathan Anda, the Neighborhood Restaurant Group and a handful of dedicated regional farmers, is a locally sourced whole animal butcher and small-batch producer of handcrafted charcuterie and fine provisions.

Our philosophy is driven by an inflexible commitment to using only the finest all-natural, hormone and antibiotic free, humanely and sustainably raised beef, pork, lamb and poultry. We’ve spent years developing the relationships we have with our farmers, and have been recognized as the first American butcher shop to source 100% of its pork from Animal Welfare Approved farms, an organization whose standards are the most strident and rigorous in the nation.

Our craft is defined by an inimitable catalog of nearly 80 original artisanal products – all of which are 100% handmade and deliberately produced in small batches designed not merely to mimic traditional or familiar foods, but rather to introduce both new and innovative flavors inspired by old world technique.
